I played FI twice in one week.  I think I was lucky to get out with a win in each game.  Curious, in the league game

there were 2 penalties out of the 3 goals scored.  So unusually, the penatly kicks didn't decide the game.  So it was

Carvalho coming out the back the made the difference!

DIVISION 2

Adirondak Renegades

Adirondak Press (AP): One important victory, 3 more to go.

Manager Fulmer (MF): Something like that. AR will need many more than 4 victories to promote, but we are in a very important stretch of games.

AP: AR played a very solid game. Did anyone stand out?

MF: No one in particular. It was a very good team effort. Newly acquired CM S Guerrero had a very strong match, and should team with our stable of strong AMs to give AR an outstanding midfield.

AP: Is the midfield strong enough to get AR to Division1?

MF: The midfield is. The question is" is the defense strong enough". Our defense is decent, but not nearly on par with our midfield. AR are an attacking team, but we need to play some defense, especially against the top teams. The next 3 weeks against FU, LU and EW will tell us if our defense is good enough.

AP: Come to think of it, something amazing did happen this week. AR made no trades!

MF: I'll try not to let it happen again :) Lets see how the next few weeks go. We could be stronger on defense and at S, but I'm not sure I want to give up any promising players to strengthen those positions. Of course, a couple of losses could get me to change my mind. Plus, I will always entertain an interesting offer :)

From The Excelsior Herald...

Well the Old Man of Monument Park played and kept a clean sheet. Suddenly the Manager looks like a genius instead of a frightened patsy and everything in the garden is rosy. In truth GK Manchester did not have a shot to save, but he commanded his area well and surely did enough to have saved his career at the club he adores. Of course the performance on the pitch mattered little as it is a matter of fact that once again Excelsior failed to attract any new players to the club. This week see a very tough trip to Lisbon. Histroically never a happy hunting ground for the club or its manager. Another clean sheet this week will be well worth shouting about.

Well that was a game! Dam.

I was happy with the result, and lets see what happens when we come around again.

Well, we won again last week even with the red card, which is good.  We are now tied for third so we should finish in a fairly good place for midseason aging.  We could actually move into first place with a win this week, but that is unlikely because the three other teams ahead of us would have to all tie or lose.  Either way, we should end up in a pretty nice place and will hopefully win this week

A fortunate draw last week but we still need to rest some players at this stage of the season. Roll on mid season aging.

SH got back on its' winning way with a convincing win this past week.

Manager Lear stated," It is like I have said before, SH means business this season and we aim to prove it. Our lineup is clicking on all cylinders, especially from our upfront attack. However the true test for our side will come when the dog days of the 2nd half of the season roll around and every manager is complaining about the bad aging their team received. Will SH be able to fight their way through it. It remains to be seen.
