Lucky week! AP deserved the win but GK Harriston had another astonishing game... I'll never again have a nsl 10 GK! ;)

Now it's time to face powerful JG... I don't think we will put a decent fight, but we never know the outcome...

Grammar United

InterQuartile Rangers

A win is a win.  Yes, it gets us out of the relegation zone.  But we took an awful lot of shots for the goals we got.  Captain Hamm took 9 shots to get one goal!!  Only 2 players shot over 50%.  8 players got goals.  It was almost like an all star game.  Defense?  What defense?  I have to agree though that the keepers both turned in phenomonal performances.

Please give me an answer this week, why is DL at the top of the table?

I managed to read some mr's this evening and seeing the DL line-up, I see a modest

team, sure there are better teams around. Is there some halo effect here, does the DL logo

make the managers frightend to play? I must admit i learned my lesson to play ZD againt a WP team, so

OFF we go, hoping for the best and looking out for that half-season aging proces,

greetings

DIVISION 2

Adirondak Renegades

Adirondak Press (AP): 2 important victories, 2 more to go.

Manager Fulmer (MF): Well, sort of. I agree with the 2 important victories, and of course the 2 important matches coming up against LU and EW. However, after that I play 2 matches against ES, who seem to have come to life. They played a very strong match last week, and were awarded with a strong result. Back to back matches against them will be tough.

AP: And in the middle of the LU and EW matches you get to play the second cup leg against CA. Do you think AR's 2 goal lead from the first leg is enough?

MF: Of course not. CA has a strong side and 2 goals is nothing. That said, I would rather be up 2 than down 2. Especially with the second leg at home. Ivo will have to put some thought into our second leg, and there is always a chance something could go wrong. As my BW team showed in the DESL cup last season against Ivo's LC team, the strongest side doesn't always win.

AP: Do you think either LU, EW, or AR will win the Division 2 title?

MF: Those are good choices. It appears PN is another good one. While I didn't think they were as strong as the top teams when the season began, they own victories over LU and us, and are sitting nicely near the top of the table. In fact, after LU, EW and AR are finished playing each other, PN may move to the top.

AP: Any predictions for a Division 2 winner?

MF: Ask me after midseason aging :)

I would really like to have a word with that ref, in private if you know what I mean... I don't think those calls where fare at all. But we have the cup to look to this season so resting this week.

Good game now.

We`re looking forward for this match, it will be a very interesting to see our CP against AR ONE.

Port of Napier AFC

We got another win last week, which was nice.  DT didn't seem to be trying too hard but still, a win is a win.  We are now tied for second in Division 2 and only one point off of first place, which is very good.

Hopefully, we will be able to win the last three games before aging, stay in good position and then have a good aging.  These last three games are all against opponents in the bottom half of the table so we should be able to come out with nine points but nothing is guaranteed and something unexpected can always happen.

DIVISION 3

Adelaide Kickers

Close but no cigar!

Last week saw the Kickers go down 12-10 to second placed Smoking Guns.  Manager Thomas did predict that they would stop SG's unbeaten run at the top a couple of weeks ago.  That was before he got the fixtures mixed up though and SG lost that week anyway.

This week sees the kickers face off at home against Stannington historical in what promises to be a good game.  Will Adelaide go al out and try to salvage some pride within Division 3 and fight their way back up the table or will they rest most of the key players ready for the midweek cup game against AA.

"We are so committed for the cup this year.  We have done well so far and the games against AA have been hard fought and close.  As long as we play our best against them with a full suqad finally we stand to be a very good chance," manager Thomas commented.

SB:  So does that mean the starting players will be rested for this game?

DT:  I didn't say that.  I only said that we are committed to the cup this year.

SB:  That is almost as good as saying that the better players will be rested though.

DT:  That's your words and thoughts, not mine.

SB:  So are you going into this week with an understrength team?

DT:  You aswell as everyone else will just have to wait and see.

SB:  Looking ahead a couple of weeks to the mid-season aging...

DT;  What about it?

SB:  Do you think it will go well for you in the run home in the second half of the season?

DT:  Doesn't every manager?

SB:  (muttering under her breath) Like trying to sell ice to Eskimo's

DT:  What was that Stephanie?

SB:  Nothing.  Thanks for you time.

DT:  Yeah, whatever.

African Selection

The Selects had a good week last week with a visit to the Falcons, and we came away with a 6 - 0 victory. It is good to get an away victory leading upto the strech we have now. After MR, we play Smoking Guns and then Stannington Historical for two games. This will be the toughest part of our schedule, so anything we can get will help with our goal of making the playoffs. It is nice to have a winning record for a change. We have had a couple of dreadful seasons and so it is good to see some wins coming.

Sitting rock bottom of the log. The only way we can go from here is up. However we still need to rest our 1st choice for this game as it's against the league runners up atm and we will have no chance of victory.

SH Manager Len Lear is extremely worried about their upcoming match vs. AK.

"The Kickers may do just do that to us this week if we aren't careful. Our lineup is looking a little tired and beat up right now. AK is a solid side that is well managed and is well respected by other SAEFL managers. They do mean trouble for us this week. Our lads are going to have to dig deep within their characters to keep our successful run of matches going."

SH is going to get semi-active in the player transaction market. We have just transfer listed several players and SH is also putting up their star AS D. Wilson 10.00 - 25 yo. for a possible deal. We are looking for a GK or CB in equivalent status or close to it in exchange. SH will also be willing to add a couple of good young players to complete any deal.
