This will be an interesting year.  My average NSL didn't change much with the end of season aging, but it is more spread out than it was last year.

So it's not as concentrated in good positions.  Stamina is also going to be a concern.  I think Peter already commented on this.  The league, SAEFL Cup, Inter EFL cup, and the World Cup.  It's going to be a loooonng year.

The Boelewieten

The Boelewieten In Sight

Season 11 was at the end a deception, losing three games in a row at the end and earning nothing worht. A place for qualifying for the EFL cup, a comfort price. And financial we had some big holes, management has done some trades, and the fans will hate them for that, so secure payments can be done to all players. Rumour was that a few stars already planned going elswhere. Gladly i can announce they stay, so managers, TB will be strong also this year.

Focus is this year the cup. But like last year the qualifiation is a hard nut to crack. Seeing FI again as a strong opponent and you never know how many monkees coming out div 2&3 sleeves. Again no simply walking overs or playing my second team, let the youth come out. Off course there is always the battle for staying in div 1. I cant effort losing it there.

The favorites in div 1, AA, AA and AA. Think they can easily switch to three or four tactics without losing any force. They have a big squad and, well, maybe the only weak point is there manager. CA is rebuilding, but Ivo is smart enough to keep a strong first 11, so they will be in the top 4 again. TH’s already moaning a couple of months, and is no good news for other managers, TH will be strong, and i hate that laughter mark is presenting after each win. JG is the team with six freaks, how bart is managing that i dont know, something with a table, numbers in a circle and one or more empty spinning bottles.

In short, good luck to you all, great to play again a season, great to throw some oil on the burning water.

The Jazz

Hi to everyone and good luck to all this seasons.

TJ are back in Div 1 after a long break, and my first time in the top div hopefully not a short one,

I know it will be a long hard seasons against the top teams, my aim will be trying to avoid the drop back down.

My first league game is away to IQ which will be a hard game against a team who finished 4th last season then the next fixture is a cup group game against Ds.

The Jazz Greats

No time for press as i am to busy to replyto insult in my mailbox!

Nevertheless, good luck to all of you this season! Let´s make it a memorable one.

And Martijn DL, welcome in div!

Adirondak Renegades

Adirondak Press (AP): So, another season is upon us.

Manager Fulmer (MF): You get paid for making astute observations like that?

AP: You supposedly get paid for managing a football team, so let’s hear some of your astute observations. Supposedly, last night in the pub, you were rambling on about the end of 2 eras for AR. Are you leaving?

MF: Don’t get your hopes up. The first is that the last 2 original players from when I took over AR were traded during the off season. I think it is interesting in that they have very different histories with AR.

AP: And I suppose we will have to listen to them.

MF: You have to listen. The managers have to read :) Anyway, the first was W. Hell. He started his career at AR as a very flashy, promising 9 yo nsl 9.0 WH. To show you the state of AR at the time, I had no player with a higher NSL. Hell didn’t improve much over his time here. He peaked at nsl 9.75 at age 24, and has now dropped to 9.25. Didn’t reach the peak we thought he would and appears to have burned out at a young age. He did play 43 matches with AR, which is currently second to E ShivuteJr’s 45. Hell has been and still is a useful player, but not the star we had hoped.

The last original player to leave is CB C. Smith. Smith was a 22 yo 6.5 player when I took over. He didn’t play for quite awhile, but really worked. He gradually improved to where he is now age 28 9.25 player, and still improving. I hated to let him go, because he would have played a major role in our defense this season, but you don’t get too many chances to get a freak AM.

AP: You mean Swannson.

MF; A bloody genius, you are.

AP: I read the papers. Actually, I write the papers.

MF: He is very important in helping us end the second era, which is AR’s time in Division 2. No, we are not relegating. Its time to move into Division 1.

AP: If memory serves me correct, AR hasn’t been in Div 1 since season 3.

MF: Unfortunately, that is correct. There will be some very tough competition in Div 2 this season, but I think AR are ready.

AP: You’ve rambled on quite awhile already. How about saving the season preview for next week.

MF: If you buy me a beer, I will gladly shut up.

AP: If you promise to shut up, I’ll buy you the pub.

A new season begins, we will try to finish in a playoff position, last season we had too many red cards and too many games without a tactic we`ll try to avoid that this season.

We`re not sure what to expect from our first game, but we`ll use a good NSL side to see what we can do.

A New Beginning?

OC fans and management have not taken to relagation lightly. The team has gone through a complete off-field overhaul and it is likely that an on-field overhaul is going to happen soon.

Team manager Keith Myers has fired 2 assistant coaches, the team's scouting director, 3 members of the grounds crew and even the guy who opperates the scoreboard, all in and effort to improve the organization. "We had some people here get complacient after we got promoted. That just wont fly around here." There are warning that more firngs are possible in the near future. "we are looking to evaluate every facet of the organization."

An major on-field shakeup has been delayed while new scouting director R. Ti (formerly a player under Myers when he managed FI) get his feet under him. The team has already let go many old declining players and signed some prommissing young rookies. But that does not constitute a major change to the roster. None of the players cut would ahve seen any time this season, and the rookies alotment is normal for this time of year.

Significant players likely to move on once the shakeup begins include GK Enklemanm, DS Kat, and CM Wicitoria. Other players likely to leave include DM Reed, S jevons, and MF Reed.

Port of Napier AFC

Well we are still in Division 2 after a good run two seasons in a row.  The first time we had a great season but then had a bad playoffs.  The second time, we had an okay season, had a good run through the playoffs but then lost in the playoff final.  That might have been for the best however, because we did not have a great aging so we probably would have gotten creamed had we moved into Division 1.  Our team is still okay though- we do not have a very strong goalie or a huge amount of depth but we should (hopefully) make a good run in the playoffs for the third season in a row and who knows, maybe we will even get promoted this year.

This week, we play EW, a team that just came to Division Two this season.  It should be a good test for our team and I am not sure how we will do.

We can only hope for the best and start off the season on the right foot with a win.

DIVISION 3

Adelaide Kickers

New Season, New Hopes

Adelaide kicks off it's second season with a match at home against FE.  It should be a good game as FE last season finished 4th but were knocked out in the playoffs and the Kickers fought strongly towards the end of the season to finish 8th, only 2 points outside the playoffs.

In the offseason though, Adelaide has bolstered their playing group by drafting new youngsters and also trading players away.  The main player to leave the club was AM M. Swansson who went to AR in trade for 3 players.

Let's get as many people to the game as we can to support the new signings and help get the Kickers off to a winning start to the season.

SH Manager Len Lear is truly excited about the team that SH will put onto the pitch this season."In all of the seasons I have been managing in the SAEFL, I haven't had a  team quite like this one SH is about to put onto the pitch for this coming season."

" We are solid in all aspects. S.Tained , our 21 yo. GK is definitely our #1 man in the nets this season. His rookie season was a thing of beauty and he proved that he can play with the best of them.

Our backfield anchored by CB D. Campbell3rd and FB A. Hirsi-Ali, finally has some quality depth. Opposing forwards are going to have to keep their heads up this season when approaching our end of the pitch. SH's midfield is simply oozing with potential. DM J. Bruce proved his worth last season and along with newcomers T. Cahill_1, and J. Talbot, this combo is going to provide some solid support for SH's attack force. All SH Manager Lear can say about their Attack force this season is,"WOW."

Lear commented further by saying," I simply haven't managed an attack force quite like this group. Without revealing anything else about them, Lear said that our opponents are simply going to find out about them sooner than later."

SH's goal is simply to get back to D-2 and we fully expect to achieve it!
