It's time to face a changing NW which has gone through a managerial change.

The new manager started grudging AA and I must admit I think the same fate waits for me. It's time to, once again, pack behind and look for counter attacks!

Grammar United

InterQuartile Rangers

Why does this sound familiar?  I have more EMP.  I have a bigger differential of attack versus defense and vice versa.  My keeper has 15% more EMP.  I have more shots.  He gets a red card, albeit in the 90th minute.  And I LOSE?????  I've got to find a way to bribe the RNG used in SAEFL.

Hamm made 85% on 13 shots!!!  She single-handedly outscored 8 teams in Division 1 this week!

A tough draw in last week against AA still leaves the club in serious relegation trouble.  "Every match from here out is going to be a fight for survival", said new manager Scimeca during this weeks training session.  He will have to figure out the dynamics of this club and its players very quickly if they hope to remain in the top division.  The players seem to be responding very well to their new manager.  "We know what we face the rest of this season and we understand that our new manager will do everything in his power to get the results from us." said AS J. Foster.  "We have the utmost respect for him and we will give everything we have to get the results we need." he added.

Time will tell is this storied club will remain in Division 1.

Adirondak Renegades

Adirondak Press (AP): Tough loss this week.

Manager Fulmer (MF): They all are. At least this week we lost to a good team.

AP: AR are still in first do you think you can stay there?

MF: Sure. I wouldn't be a very good manager if I didn't believe in my team. This weeks match will be important in answering that question. EW is a good team with a strong manager, Simon used MM tactics last time we played, and they were very effective. We have brought in a couple of players, particularly AS Wilson, who will help if MM is tried again.

AP: What do you think of the remaining schedule?

MF: Funny you would ask that question. I was just looking at the schedule. I think the remaining schedule favors us tremendously. After our match with EW this week, we will have played the other top teams in the second half of the season, LU, PN, EW, and DT. None of those teams have played each other, so they will all have 3 matches against the top teams while we will be done. Needless to say, I like that schdeule.

AP: Do you see any potential problems?

MF: Of course. Managers not only believe in their team, but they are also paranoid. AR has a lot of depth, and after playing this long string of tough matches we will need it. Plus, teams like OC, while not in the title hunt, can still give us a very good match.

We got a win last week, which is good but things are pretty tight in Division 2 right now.  We now trail AR by 2 points but LU trails us by only 1 point.  This is not very good because we are now under pressure to win our remaining games.  If we do lose this week, we could potentially drop down to fifth place.  Plus, we have some tough games left and all of our players are not well rested.  We are resting several this week but hopefully not too many that we will not get all three points, like what happened two weeks ago agianst NH.  This week, we play EU, who are in last place in Division 2 but you never know what can happen so we will just hope for the win.

DIVISION 3

Adelaide Kickers

Search Nears Finish

The first part of the search for a new press writer for the Adelaide Kickers, concluded late yesterday evening when applications closed.  This publication will not be using their own journalist but will be getting statements directly from the club.  This is the first time the Adelaide Advertiser will be allowing such a move to occur with any sporting club and we see it as a move in the right direction for all sporting clubs and this publication.

On behalf of the whole city of Adelaide, we wish them the best of luck in the race for the playoffs. That race starts with a match against Melchester Rovers this week after a big loss to the top side, Stannington Historical, last week.

Go get 'em David.

African Selection

The Selects took a welcome 3 points last week from our visit with the Rovers.

So what if they mailed it in. The 3 points puts the Selects up at the top of the tight group instead of at the bottom. With only 2 points separating 5 teams and 3 playoff spots up for grabs, every point matters. If all we were doing was fighting to see which playoff position we get, then it wouldn't really matter. But if MR miss out on a playoff spot by 2 points, they might think back to this match!

Thanks Bruce!

This week the Selects host the #2 club in the division. We are hoping they go a little light and we plan to come out with a fairly strong team (not the strongest mind you) and hope to sneak in a couple of goals.

"We are in the home stretch and SH is just itching to wrap the D-3 title up asap so we can try some different tactics in preparing for life in D-2," said SH Manager Len Lear. Lear added,"We are taking a slightly different approach with our match this week. Hopefully it will pay off in the 3 points."
