England U-21 against Lisbon United means the number last of the table against the nr. 3. EU is as good as relegated, while LU is in the race for direct promotion. (In theory, they can even still win the title! But hey, that’s just theory). You might expect a difference between these 2 teams, and in fact, that difference was there, but not as you think it would be. EU played only 86.25 NSL, because only the cup has Martins priority. Nuno played some more NSL, and even played a boost. That of course was enough for a fair victory. Still, the difference wasn’t that big. And I think that, now Martin has taken over EU, we will see some nice things next season, and EU will be a title candidate for sure.

With only 2 matches to go, it seems that both DT and FU will manage to stay in div 2, and that is a nice development for this game. DT are already sure of the playoffs, and apparently Claudio already rested some players for that. If Brian would have known that, he would probably have saved his grudge for another match. Still, the grudge did what he intended to: FU beat DT and with that they win 3 important points in their battle against relegation. However, since OC and NH also won their match this week, they do have to watch out.

Point of Napier is the number 2 on the table, still in the race for the title. Their opponent this week, is Englehart Storm, and they are also the number 2, but in their case it’s from the bottom. Still, ES have a chance to stay in div 2, and for that they need a victory. That must be why Derek played the grudge. Play your best possible football yourself, and hope that your opponent underestimates you. Well, I don’t know if it was underestimating, but at least Kelly did not play the very strongest PN side. She did however compensate that by playing a boost, but in this case, that was not enough to cope with the ES surprise. Although it was not very much, ES was the better team, and that led to a 10-8 victory. A very expensive loss for PN, as this defeat will probably cost them the title for sure. Besides, it’s not just the title that Kelly has to worry about now, as because of goal difference, LU have passed them on the table as well! For ES, the 3 points may look very important, but when you know that FU, OC and NH have won 3 points too this week, it doesn’t make very much difference so far.
