This will be the battle for first place! I suspect Nathan to play a strong TS team, or maybe OFF. This will be a tought match!

F.C Inferno

Grammar United

InterQuartile Rangers

If nothing else I caused someone to waste a grudge.  Talk about totally uneeded!  I guess the impressive thing is we scored 7 goals from a defensive tactic.  That's probalby why a FB was the leading scorer for the team.

NZ did well in my initial appearance as an international manager.  I don't put much store in it as the US manager doesn't seem to have his heart in it.  Still a win is a win....

TJ got they first league win of the seasons with narrow 13 -12 win over AP at home in front of a crowd of just over 22,000 fans with a last minute penalty the

the winning goal of the game . This week TJ face FI at the Fire Stadium who are sitting in 5th spot only 3 points of the leaders. This will be another hard game  against top GK G. Harriston and they mean defence.

DIVISION 2

Adirondak Renegades

Adirondak Press (AP): A Win! A tough win, but it still comes with 3 points.

Manager Fulmer (MF): 3 very needed points I might add. DT played a strong set of field players, but a very weak GK. Although this week, he had a strong match and they almost pulled it out.

AP: Speaking of strong matches, N GoodmanJr had a very strong match, in a couple of ways.

MF: Indeed. He was strong on the scoreboard as he scored 7 goals on 8 chances, and is now leading Div 2 in goals scored. Pretty good for 55 minutes of work. Unfortunately, he was also a bit too strong in the tackle in the 56th minute and was sent off.

AP: GoodmanJr is currently ranked 8th among midfielders. Is that a surprise to you?

MF: A surprise in that he is not one of my top 11 players, although I know he is good enough to be ranked. He and a few others give AR the depth to make a run at the Division 2 title.

AP: Ummmmm, Have you noticed how LU has played this season?

MF: OK, we have a strong and deep enough side to make a run at second place.

AP: If I remember correctly, you purchased GoodmanJr when he was a 20 yo for $60,000.

MF: Obviously my best trade.

AP: I agree. So how about your worst trade?

MF: Nature calls. See you next week.

Dead Scientists

Defrosted TunaFish

With a perhaps, unlucky game this week ?

DT : yeah, we do feel unlucky there, losing by only 1 goal - esp infront of our home fans

Press : some serious work needs to be done for DT to stay in Div 2- what are your feelings ?

DT : mostly we need to regroup as a team, decide what is more important here - a lot of players like I have mentioned before

have dropped NSL and im not sure how we are going to handle the next ageing… but we have a few promises in our youth players

and hopefully we can make a change in the next half of the season

Press:  ur next game is FU, how do you feel going against your old team from div3?

DT : well, they are on phenominal form at the moment and its going to be exremely tough game for me and my players - I have no

idea what to expect from the outcome of the game, FU are very strong at the moment - and are looking very good to perhaps even take the div2 title

Press : well, good luck with the game

DT : thanks

Excelsior Warren

From The Excelsior Herald...

A valuable away win at Newton Heath and not only that, but Excelsior looked the better team. Can that form be carried over into the home game against Oaklake City. There can be no room for complacency as despite their low league position City are a tough team.

The search for new talent continues and rumours are rife that this week will see the club sign a quality yong player. Why they should be true this time around is anyone's guess.

Fanatics United

Nice, did not expect a grude, o well. :) I think if I put just a bit of stronger team in I would have won.

Love this game, just wish I had some more time to trade. Will be sending out a little trading list. The players are more than looking forward to see some more of the other side.

Lisbon United

At last a home game. We’ll play against EU, that is a very versatile team. We’re not sure what they will play

but we expect a tough game. It seams we found a very good system to rotate, We hope we can keep it after midseason aging, but for now we want to collect as many points as possible.

Newton Heath

Oaklake City

Port of Napier AFC

Well, we got a very nice win last week, which puts us up to tied with second in the standings.  There are four teams tied for second though so it is not a very safe place to be in.  This week we play ES, who are lower than us in the standings so hopefully, we should win.  If we win, at best we would move up into tied with first but more likely, if we win, we will probably end up in a more secure second place.  Either way, it is still early on in the season so any wins are good for us at this point in time.

DIVISION 3

Adelaide Kickers

African Selection

Unlucky last week to have newly acquired Albers sent off in the fourth minute in a game that should have been won or at least tied by the Selects. This weeks sees the Selects return home to face the Speedsters. We hope to counter their mid-field with a long - ball game plan. The Selects are using this as a tune up for next weeks final round robin cup match against Dead Scientists.

The Selects regret to annouce the following player cuts: FB Hofland and CF Kariba. Hofland played 75 matches for the Selects during his career and played 5 international matches for the US.

Aros VSK

After winning last week AV are now on the up. Beware!

Blue Storm FC

Falcons

Last week’s bruising encounter didn’t go according to plan and I’ve had to re-evaluate my entire squad so don’t be surprised to see a lot of transfer activity. We are resigned to the fact that we will not make the playoffs this season and so we concentrate on building for the future.

Fantastic eleven

Melchester Rovers

Smoking Guns

Speedsters

A few changes has been made to the team. However the coach has kept the core of his squad together that secured the narrowest of wins last week. A win is very important to the team now to try and get the momentum and consistency going.

Stannington Historical

SH continued it's winning ways early in the SAEFL season with a solid 18

-9 victory in their most recent match. Manager Lear was happy,"We are clicking on all cylinders right now. It is good this is happening because SH has a couple of key matches coming up that we can't afford to slip up in. Also, I am very pleased with the chemistry of our team.

Every squad member is helping one another and everyone gets along.  Team chemistry is so important when you are chasing a successful season.

However, a good number of managers overlook team chemistry entirely...then they wonder  why their team didn't finish as high as they could of."

This week's match sees SH at home against FE. This should be an encounter of the many goals scored kind. FE has proven they can score and we definitely have proven that SH can score. What worries me about this match a little bit is that FE has a very low goals against in away matches. However SH sure hopes to change that. We do expect to take the tres in this one.

Despite their excellent start to the season SH isn't sitting still with their lineup. Manager Lear says,"SH can still get better. I know this isn't what our opponents in D-3 wanted to hear but anything can happen so SH is not taking anything for granted. When you are at the top, the other teams are trying that much harder to knock you off. So , SH has these players for deal. We are looking for a solid backup GK and a good MF/CM/CB. Here are the SH players for dealing:

DS G. Norrie - 9.50 - 27 yo.

FB G. Clichy - 7.00 - 26 yo.

AS L. Prosser - 4.00 - 19 yo.

DM K. Richards 6.75 - 26 yo.

CM D. Way 8.50 - 26 yo.

MF G. Tjirare 8.25 - 27 yo

S D. Enugu 7.25 - 26

S P. DeBoer  8.00 - 22

WH T. Niven 9.00 - 28

WH  K. Illbill  9.50 - 28
