The cup was not a priority to FI so far. However, the last results gave us some hopes and we decided to give it a shot. A reasonable team will enter field to face league title favorites TB, which hopefully will rest. Let's hope GK Harriston keep up the good job!

What can I say?  Soemtimes you're just not good enough.  Of course, that doesn't bode well for my future in division 1.  I guess I can hope for a good mid-season aging which saved me last season.

Very odd indeed to play against SP, I really had to look

at the matchreports to see what SP normally is playing. I bett it will

be CP, so i will counter with ZD. So SP, dont dare to loose and save the honour of

DESL!! LOL

For the 8th week in a row TB was robbed by the commish. And by robbed i mean simply taking money

without asking, South Afruican style i presume. With Christmass coming, I hope the commish will see

what a scrooge he really is. So, lets face it also and look what last week happend in the EFL matches, TB

keeping the SAEFL honour high, so thinking of that I really cant explain why the commishing is acting this way,

just the fact that he hates me? But why only me, we all hate Bart, and he is rich! So, I home cash comes to me

for these wasted words ;-)

DIVISION 2

Adirondak Renegades

Adirondak Press (AP): A milestone was reached this week.

Manager Fulmer (MF): We won 2 matches in a row?

AP: Yes, but that's not the one I was thinking of. Two players played in there 50th career match. AM E. ShivuteJr has played all 50 matches for AR, while MF H. Ellraiser has played 15 with AR.

MF: The roster is finally starting to stabilize, and our players are gaining valuable experience. This experience will be very important because there is going to be a real fight in Div 2 for promotion this season.

AP: I did a bit of research are here are the games played by AR's top 11 players, total matches first then matches with AR

GK W. Evans 13-13

FB T Barker 24-21

FB J Gentele 22-4

CB K Hickey 23-18

MF H Ellraiser 50-15

WH W Ittemik 20-18

WH T Dinning 8-8

AM E ShivuteJr 50-50

AM R Mitreski 28-21

AM M Swansson 25-4

S E West 30-4

MF: We have finally gotten strong enough to bring in some experience to help now instead of always building for the future. West, Swansson, and Gentele were brought in this season to help win promotion. Of course, while the short term goal is promotion to Div 1, the long term goal is to stay there and maybe someday win a championship. Therefore, we have also brought in young players such as 22yo DS M Keen, 21yo AM B Weston, and this week 19 yo GK C. Caine.

AP: Six new players this season and we just finished week 7. Yes indeed, the roster has certainly stabilized. I guess when the manager is not stable, we can't expect the roster to be :)

MF: :)

AP: This weeks addition to AR was 19 yo GK C Caine. He seems to be a promising young player. Why do you think JG sold him for cash?

MF: Bart has been trying to raise a lot of cash lately. I can think of 2 possible reasons for this. One is that JG is making a run at the title and will use the cash to buy players to add depth to their roster. The other possible reason is that Bart has found a pub that takes SAEFL cash. This possibility is unlikely, but scary if true.

The cup is really a lost battle, all focus to a play-off spot in the league. Some players want to leave , this team is in need for some other positions. We, the club, are looking out for a manager with tradingskills, for the time being we will do our best, give hell to everyone visiting us and will nog surrender. Beware, we will play grudges and boost, hey, we played already two of them. So, commish, give this team the pressmoney they need for future tradings!!

The people that want to beat me in this league should read this, I am quite happy with my current position in the league. Last session in the first half of the season I won every game, and it being my first season I rubbed it in a bit, that is why last season I only finished second and had the most grudge card against me.

I will go for the cup in this season and see where I am in the next half to see if the league will be within my reach.

Good Game DT, and it would have been a different story if I used one of my GC on you.

Lisbon United

Another league win. Now for the cup we rest. We`re looking forward for next week game against PN.

Arsenic Avenger spend a season there and it will be fun to play against them now.

Last week was kind of unlucky for us.  We had similar NSL and, even with the boost they played, they only ended up a couple of points higher in EMP.  It was still a semi-close game but we ended up losing, which is really all that matters.  We are still not in that bad of a place considering how early it is in the season but of course, we would still like to win.  We are in sixth place because of goal differential but really tied for fourth.  Hopefully we will start winning more consistently so we can get more points and go into midseason aging in a good position in Division Two.  This week is a cup week so the outcome does not really matter that much to us.  We are playing JG and they do not appear to be taking the cup that serious either so the game probably will not be that good.  If we win, that's fine but, like I said, we do not really care.

The Big Match

SB:  So today is the big match against Adirondack, are you confident.

DT:  We are grudging today.  Sure AM Mats Swansson is my friend but I would love nothing more than to stop him and make sure we win.

SB:  SO you are playing a grudge card then.

DT:  Wouldn't be a grudge match without one.

SB:  A win will put you into the next round, does that surprise you.

DT:  Earlier in the season I said we weren't going to be trying to win the cup matches this year, but only losing narowly to a div 1 side in week 2 and then winning in week 5, we have readjusted priorities.

SB:  So it works out well that you are playing AR this week then.

DT: Absolutely.

SB: In a word how would you describe the AR side and DOn as a manager.

DT: Can't be repeated here, sorry Steph.

SB: Sure you can.

DT: Nope.

SB: Go on, tell us what you think of them.

DT: Shite as the british would put it.

SB: Well good luck this week.

DT: Mats is the one that needs luck so as to avoid career ending injury.

So there you have it.  Looks like there is no love lost between these two teams.

African Selection

This is going to be a very interesting week for the Cup! There are a number of groups in which there will be at least one really disappointed team. Group 5 is very interesting indeed! All four teams have a 1-1 record and sit on 3 points going into the last game. First and last on goal differential are the two first division teams and only one of them will go through. The Selects are in 2nd on goal differential and play the Dead Scientists. Since we are second, we know that a tie will send us through, so we are playing a very defensive line up. There is a chance the Scientists will play a grudge, but I don't think so in the Group stage.

Last week was a great match for the Selects - a 12-8 victory over the Speedsters!  Lots of goals and solid keeping from young Senner. The 22 year old managed to turn away 12 of 20 shots he faced and now sits at the top of the keeper charts for Div 3. Also, the Selects have totally turned around their style of play. There was a number of years were they were a free flowing attacking side and now they are much more defensive.

Hope you have a great week.

1 win and 1 draw with a +2 goal difference. Do we go for a win or try and hold out for a draw.

A lot of tough decisions this week, as we attempt to get into the knock out stages of the cup for the first time. At least we are not propping up the bottom of our table as everyone expected.

Press SH is not sitting still despite their record so far this season.SH Manager Lear announced,"We have just completed one deal and are currently in heavy-duty negotiations to complete another deal. I feel our side can get better and we aim to do that."

Lear added,"There is an old farmer's saying here in Canada and i don't know if it is used elsewhere but the saying is"You have to make hay while the sun shines."SH is doing just that."

Someone asked SH the other day what the key was to our early season success was. Well, SH believes that it is that we made some key player acquisitions.  For instance, one of the best player acquisitions I have ever made in my SAEFL career is dealing for S M.

Jayden. He has been the perfect complement for our two CF towers , Garcia and Morales. Also, we let some of our better youth players develop without putting a lot of pressure on them.

The best example of this at SH is how well  our #1 GK S. Tained has developed. He is currently 21 yo,and is a NSL 10.

Anyways, now to get ready for our final Cup match against the terror of D-2, LU. LU is a tough side to play against because they are tremendously strong defensively. But what some SAEFL Managers may not have noticed is LU's GF record at home. They have scored a lot of goals on their own pitch.

Their away GF/GA record is +4. They have yet to allow a goal away. This is a very interesting fact. SH is not worried about this match because our focus is on the league and winning the D-3 title. But all I can say about our Cup Match vs. LU is that we want to give them some of their own medicine. Whether we can do it or not, remains to be seen.

Trav Spoodle

Last few weeks we played our best players in the competition and we have to take back some trottle in this match. The risk playing

our best players and getting his by the injuryrole is just too big. Our position is not bad in the cup but the team is also realistic, OC is a strong team and they will not take a risk. So we keep the grudges and boost in the pocket, next week we will back!
