PRESS REPORT
Adirondak Renegades
. Mr.
Commissioner,
As an
American, I have seen my government try to help solve our
financial
crisis by giving out hundreds of billions of dollars to
bailout the
people who caused the problem. Our incoming president, who
is very
different from his predecessor, is also going to print
hundreds
of billions of dollars, and give them out. Since two very
different
presidents are doing it, printing and giving out money must
be the
right thing to do.
Mr,
Commissioner, AR is currently in a financial crisis. They have no
cash to
spend on the transfer market. As you know, that is one of the
fun ways
to participate in SAEFL, and is a great way to help build a
team. We
should not be denied this pleasure. AR is currently in this
situation
because I spent all of their money on acquiring players.
Since AR
caused their own financial crisis, if SAEFL were run by the
American
government, I'm sure they would bail us out.
Therefore, kind
sir, I am
requesting an SAEFL bailout of 2000K so we can continue
operations
in the same irresponsible manner as we have in the past.
After all,
we wouldn't want a team with the successful and storied past that AR has, to
collapse
and bring down the SAEFL.
Respectfully
submitted,

ALL CHANGE FOR AA SQUAD?
It's been a difficult season
for AA. The side really needs turning around, as some of the squad are
getting a little old in the tooth. The clubs new manager, Nobby Rain, has unfortunately been too busy sorting out a
messy libel claim to tweak a creaking and rather full squad, albeit one that is
packed full of quality players.
Rain is therefore happy to look at offers from clubs for any of his players,
but particularly individuals that, although a little old in the tooth, can do a
great job for opposing teams looking for a championship or to ward of
relegation.
This week saw another tight game (what's new?) as AA lost out to a fantastic TB
side. Still, with the cup to play for and a top three finish still on the
cards, it's not a lost cause of a term.
Joining AA this week from the youth side is promosing
DS prospect K. Riley. It is hoped that Riley will take the place of club
stalwart A. Woods. With O. Sylfar, G. Catenaccio and legend W. Altercapio
on the books, Defensive Sweeper is one position well catered for.
This week, AA are also looking at purchasing a great CF prospect from a lower
league club, but whether they will be able to snare the player with other clubs
desperate for the next striking star, is yet to be decided.

Unfortunately AA didn't get any points
against TB, although they deserved a draw. We will try to keep doing our
homework against a NW side that is performing well. Let's keep the dream alive!
InterQuartile Rangers
Wow!! After looking at the stats I was wondering how he managed to score
5 goals. Then I saw all the shots (and goals) by my
defenders. I guess they were all running forward in the scoring frenzy and forgot to play defense! We'll need to work on the
discipline next time around. It helped balance our goals against average anyway. Not that I hope a team collapses like that, but
frankly I'm glad it didn't happen to me.
I'm just waiting for the end of the season. I'm not really in a position to make run for the title and I'm out of the cup. Maybe I can
be a spoiler?

Well we are still in last place in Division 1 so we will see what happens this week. We are playing a boost, so maybe we will be able to come out of this game with some points, or at least one. Last week we lost but that really wasn't a surprise since we were playing a very good team in FI and were also resting basically all of our top eleven. This week we play TH who are only a couple of positions ahead of us in the standings, so hopefully we will at least have a shot of some sort. Well, at any rate, I guess we will wait and see.
The Boelewieten
JG and
Bart, a mix of skill,
booze and management. Last week we zon without a grudge or boost from AA, this week again
without a boost or grudge. Lets hope Bart is a
bit chicken, or just sane, and rest his players. Or, insane,
plying a grudge and making it ery difficult for TB.
A few futire freaks left TB this week. Three new nsl 10 players we welcome!

Manager about to get sacked?!?
Monday - An Emergency meeting of team's board was called, apparently to discuss the team’s poor play, poor talent levels, and the future of manager Keith Myers. An source, who spoke only on condition of anonymity, said that the board gave president Rob Givins permission to fire Myers at any moment, but that Givins was reluctant to fire Myers.
Just last week, given stated "Myers came in here and saved this team just a few years ago. We were going nowhere, and he saved this team. He took us to the First Division. That energized this team and this entire city. He was honest and said that a run at the first division would cost us in the long run. We told him to do it. It turns out he was right. At this point he deserve our patience"
Just a week later, that patience seems to have run out.
If he is released, Myers is likely to be unemployed long. The recent work stoppage has left many teams using interim managers, and looking for long term solutions. Myers is likely to be highly sought after if he becomes available.
Myers still leading
OC
Tuesday – After a whirlwind of speculation of Myers would be fired yesterday, the silence from the OC headquarters is deafening. Practice this morning was held as normal, except it was behind closed doors. Usually, the press and fans are invited to practice.
The open door policy Myers instilled in this organization the moment he was hired is considered a guiding philosophy. It has been this policy that has been greatly credited for growing the fan base quickly. So a closed door practice is an obvious indication that something is wrong.
A member of the field maintenance team who refused to be quoted directly indicated that it was a normal practice, and that Myers had led the practice in his usual manner. He then speculated that the media and fans had been kept out of the practice facility simply to shield the players from the drama and to make sure that the team was ready to play on game day.
Myers
seen seeking new job?
Wednesday - This bizarre drama for OC continued to worsen today. Manager Keith Myers didn’t show up at team headquarters as was his usual pattern. Wednesday is a day off for players, but is spent by the team’s management going over scouting reports, evaluating injuries, and generally handling that long-term nature of the organization. Is Myers’s absence a sign that he is expecting to get fired soon.
Reports have recently surfaced (though not been confirmed) that Myers was using this day to meet with representatives from other teams that are believed to be interested in his services.
Myers given Ultimatum
Wednesday – In light of the rumors that Manager Keith Myers might have spend the day interview for his next job, team President Rob Givens issued an ultimatum that if the team’s for does not change immediately, that Myers would be relieved of his duties.
“I just don’t see any other way. The recent play has been unacceptable. We owe it to our fans to be better.”
Myers will rest
players
Thursday – In spite of the ultimatum given by team president Rob Given yesterday manager Keith Myers announced today that OC will be resting many of it regulars.
“This team has gone all out to advance in cup play, and try to salvage some points in league play. These guys are tired. The situation has gotten dire. If we don’t rest some of the players then injuries will be certain to happen. I owe it to these men to look after them.
“I absolutely won’t let my own job status cloud my judgment here. I must protect my players.”
It would seem that this saga is about to come to a head, one way or another.

African Selection
Well the
Selects decided they should take a page out of Cliff Fletcher's book of
management and they have traded a couple of up and comers for a couple of older
hot shots.
Good to see
we are undefeated in the past two matches to start the second half of the
season. One more game, and we will match our longest
undefeated string for this season.
This week,
we have to field a super strong team as we are taking on league leaders
Falcons. Hopefully we have the right stuff.

a team with a mix of talent, youth, strenght and some
