After a disappointing loss, it's time to recover. Playing home is a good start, but we do expect a very even game...

InterQuartile Rangers

I think I've said it before.  Like Napoleon's marshall, SAEFL managers are better to be lucky than good.  4 red cards in Division 1 in the first week, and they all were in 2 games, and only 3 of those four teams were hit.  I have a feeling that Vince might feel unsatisfied with luck last week.

And no, I'm not satisfied with the result.  Even with 2 red cards it was a draw.  Imagine the rsult if the RNG didn't clump numbers.  So who knows what awaits this week?  Maybe three red cards in one game?  Maybe the RNG is biased against American managers?  Did anyone notice that 4 of the 5 Americans in Saefl are now in division 1?  Maybe that's why Kelly got only a draw even with a 2 player advantage?  The RNG didn't want to give a victory to an American!

We were lucky last week, let`s see if we can be as lucky as well this week. WeŽll use a boost to even up the EMP we hope.

Port of Napier AFC

Well, last week we were pretty lucky.  We probably did not deserve a tie but we came out with a point anyway.  This week we play JG, who are probably even better than IQ was/is.  Which means that we will probably lose.  Then again, that is what I said last week and we came out with a tie, so I suppose that there is a chance we can pull that off again.  A win would be extremely unexpected/unprobable, but obviously welcomed.

This season we are just trying to stay in Division 1, so losing this game is by no means the end of the season for us.  With that being said, we would still like to do the best we can so we will hope for the best this week.

The Boelewieten

So, I almost knew that FI would grudge me, I would do that if I was FI, and I would have won also. So, see the pure class of the management of TB ;-)

All the bad luck of last year turned in a very very lucky escape. With the return of Rowbottom in the squad we have now also a new tactic to be played.

Also very good to seek answers against ZD playing teams, and, if we are again lucky, we score again three point in the old powerhouse that did a very good job last season; DL.

Fingers crossed, hoping for victory.

The Jazz Greats

We started the league well with a lucky victory against AR. But the first test is this weeks match. Lets see how strong (or weak) the freakless JG team really is!

Div 1 looks awfully strong and if i'm not mistaken this match against PN could get very very important just around week 25. In my view this is a six point game very early in the season.

Manager Lear was impressed with his club's opening 9 - 1 winning performance versus GU. "We came out hard at the opening kickoff and didn't let up. it was not that easy of a match because GU is a rather solid team. I think once the season develops a little more, GU will be one of the contenders in D-2."

Lear added," I do have some concerns with our lineup. We have to add a couple of players here and there to patch some holes especially in backup roles. Our starting 11 rivals anything in D-1 but if we run into suspensions and injuries, SH could be in for a bit of a rough stretch."

This week's match sees SH taking on OC, a former team of Lear's. Lear told the press about his team's chances versus OC. "There is no doubt that we are going to have to be ready for this match. OC scored 14 goals in their opening match so our backfield is going to have to be strong. However, I suspect that OC might be going through a youth buildup so their youthful exuberance might have gotten the best of them. OC is definitely a side to be respected. I think in order to beat OC, SH has to come out early and take the match right to them.

We can't give OC a chance to get wound up."

In other SH news, Lear announced that SH has acquired H. Foxe a 12.5 CB. "We are thrilled to have gotten Foxe. It cost us a lot of cash but it filled a major hole in our lineup. I feel that now we have a

D-1 level backfield. SH is currently in negotiations with several other clubs for a couple of blockbuster deals.

The Jazz

TJ have a long hard season in front of them. They have started with 3 away points with a good win at Crazy Park home of FU , young striker Green lantern made his first start for TJ and got two goals from 2 shots and star player Stitch also got two goals but had a below par game.  Goalkeeper  Krupa in his final seasons again put in a match winning game .  TJ have a home game against  EW this week who played DT last week in a high scoring 14-14 draw so the home crowd know it will be a hard game and hopefully TJ will come away with 3 points.

DIVISION 3

Adelaide Kickers

African Selection

Last week saw the Selects come up with a respectable draw to start the season.

This week for the home opener, the Selects are going with another defensive team. No surprisese in the starting 11. There are a couple of new faces who will suit up as substitutes. There is the young Hoggar at FB who was drafted this year. Also on the subs list will be recent MF acquisition DeCeulaer.

The Selects have been busy in the past few weeks leading up to the start of the season. They have acquired three new players, in addition to the drafted players. The new players are MF DeCeulaer from TH, AS Vidic from DT (in a trade for CF Hittingbricks) and MF Moreeke from SH.

While DeCeulaer can step in now, the other two are a year or two away from cracking the starting 11.
