PRESS REPORT

Adirondak Renegades

Adirondak Press (AP): Tough loss. Actually 2 tough loses, losing both the Cup match and losing DS Brandt for the DL match.

Manager Fulmer (MF):

AP: So which one do you want to talk about first?

MF:

AP: OH, lets go with the Cup match. Are you planning to try and make it through. AR has a very tough match against group leader BS, who I'm sure is going to be really ready for this match?

MF:

AP: Not only do you have to win, but you need to win by a good margin since your current GD is 0.

AP: OK, how about the DL match. They are currently on the top of the table, so this is obviously an important match. Losing star DS Brandt will definitely hurt.

MF:

AP: Hey, this was fun. Lets do it again some time:

It's been a goof start to the season for AA, after a disappointing season last time out.  Undefeated in 5 games, there is a sense that the team can go on to challenge for the top spot this time – but only if the players keep giving away 2 points on the road.

The Alcies management team have not been active in the transfer market this season, partly due to a lack of time to effectively operate.  However, with a  bunch of young and hungry players set to improve at mid-season, and some senior pros possibly starting to feel their age, expect the gaffer to make a few calls in the coming weeks,

This week, AA come up against a very strong looking TB side.  I expect to see a defensive side from The Booies, and the Alcies will reply in kind.  A draw might be on the cards, but a stalemate won't be down to AA taking the game lightly.

F.C Inferno

Finally a win! After 4 unlucky games, full of sendoffs, missed goals and PKs, we found a winning path. The strategy should not be different this week against PN, as we will try to score in a counter attack. AM K. Fisher starts for the first time in FI and expectations are high!

InterQuartile Rangers

Yeah, I know it's crazy to do WH after trading away a freak stirker.  But when else can I play AA?  This is actually the first time since I took over IQ that I'm playing AA.  I'm obviously hoping our opponents continue to play their zone defense to give my weaker forwards some extra whoomp.

It also gives some key players a chance to rest while giving my strong midfield just about as much strength as they normally get.  The AA also shifts some NSL forward.  In the worst case it's a stand off since I'd have a weak defense against his weak offense.  Well, the worst case would be for him to play WP or something like that.  Then it could be ugly.

The MR expressed simpathy for the other teams in our group.  But why must we play TH so early in the cup.  We had a classic struggle in the cup semi

2 years ago.  Yes, we could meet again in later stages, but on the other hand one of us could get knocked out in group play!

Well, last week made the cup for our group rather interesting.  Our tie makes us tied for the lead in our cup group so it all will come down to the last cup game.  This week, however, we play FI, who are the only team in Division 1 below us right now so hopefully we will be able to come away with some points.  On the other hand, we are only ahead by one point, so it is not like we are guaranteed a win or tie.  Hopefully we will win, though, and maybe move out of the red in the standings.

The Boelewieten

This weeks game is a ery important one. TB considers AA as a title candidate and a away win without using a grudge would be a very good result.
AA has a strong defense, backbone there is a youthplayer from TB, Waltercapio, a great name, a great player and also a bad feeling about the way he left our team ;-) . EFL is emotion, and emotion is what we will see at the pitch this week. OUr players are ready, we are still competing for the cup and for the league, I wont take the word "double" in my mouth, only the very talented managers are capable of doing that.

The Jazz Greats

It seems NW has adoptes a nices rotation frequency. That means we should counter a CP team today. If so, we have a chance. Let's see if we are right..

DIVISION 2

Apocalypse

All still going very well since taking over at AP. Progress in the Cup was seen as important and our league placing is pleasing!

FU the opponents this week and confidence is high around the club - but we know it won't be easy. But a win this week could see us looking very strong as other teams at the top meet its a chance we have to take to show Len we mean business! Will this week prove to be the weekour 'predictable' playing style gets found out?

African Selection

The Selects were the innocent victims of a boost card for the second match in a row. This was a Cup match and the Selects stood a chance until the Boost was played and then FB Karnak was dismissed shortly after the second half started. So it looks like the Selects Cup asprirations are snuffed out. Guess we get to rest some players in week 8 (or not).

This week sees the Selects home for only the second time this season in a game against the top place Trav Spoodle. The Selects are going to have to deal with a fairly strong WP side, so they will be playing the offside trap, giving DS Maldade an extra week to rest his 29 year old body. Getting his fourth start of the season is FB Hoggar, one of the new players drafted by the Selects in the off season. He has really turned out to be a nice surprise for the Selects this year.

The transfer list looks a little bare, with only one player currently on the list and Len is asking a huge $$$ for him.

Best of luck to you all.
